Volunteering with Voices and Choices

Do you have spare time? Could Volunteering be for you?

Help people find the practical services they need to stay Safe and Sound at Home. Provide the support they need when talking to professionals like GPs and solicitors, or maybe their own family.

Our Information and Advice Volunteers receive an accredited induction course and on-going support; they visit people in their own homes to discuss their needs and find the help they need. Our Web Copywriters, Admin Volunteers and Marketing Volunteers provide the essential back-up to provide admin support and keep the website updated.

Currently we are seeking the following:

Information and Advice Volunteers

The Role

(Multiple roles are available)

To provide information and advice to clients contacting the service, by telephone or by visiting clients in their own home. You will be offered a five day training course, accredited by the Open College Network, to support you in advice giving and to identify the information resources available to you.

Skills required

If you have good communication skills, common sense and an interest in people, together with flexibility and reliability, you have the necessary skills to support our clients. In addition to the induction course, additional training will be offered, together with regular supervision and peer support. There will be opportunities to develop skills to deliver community advocacy.
