VAT Exemption on Disability Products
From time to time, we are asked for clarification on the rules regarding VAT exemption, and it seems that there may be many people missing out on buying products without VAT, because they don’t realise that they can.
From 1 April this year, the Government is limiting VAT exemption on the purchase of adapted vehicles for disabled users, to one car every three years. This is apparently because there has been abuse of this relief in the past, with some people buying several vehicles in a single year, removing the adaptations and then selling the vehicles on for a profit.
