Pets that can improve your mental health
Having a pet can help people with mental health problems, according to the first attempt to systematically review the evidence into animal ownership. Depression, stress, loneliness and even PTSD suffered by military veterans could be helped by having a dog, cat, bird or hamster according to analysis of 17 studies looking at the impact of animals on their owners by academics at the Universities of Manchester, Southampton and Liverpool.
